Thanksgiving is one of our favorite times of year, and our bakery is absolutely buzzing. We make hundreds of pies, one by one, in just two ovens, filling the shop with the scent of apples, pecans, pumpkin, and butter. Every pie is made from scratch with care, so your holiday table feels as warm and special as it should.

Double Apple Pie – a classic blend of sweet and tart apples in a flaky crust. $30
Michigan Tart Cherry Pie – bursting with ruby-red cherries. $32
Pumpkin Pie – topped with cinnamon whipped cream, a timeless holiday favorite. $28
Southern Maple Pecan Pie – rich, nutty, and sweetened with maple. $33

Ordering & Policies
Orders must be placed at least six days in advance. As this is our busiest week of the year, we regret that we cannot accommodate catering or special requests. During Thanksgiving week, online orders will only be accepted for same-day pickup (not for next-day or future orders). On Thanksgiving Day, online ordering will be unavailable; you must visit our store to place your order in person.
We will still have our full bakery case, sandwiches, and grab-and-go options available every day leading up to Thanksgiving, as well as on Thanksgiving morning.

Open 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Our full menu is available. Online ordering opens shortly before we open each day for same-day orders only.Thursday, Nov. 27 (Thanksgiving Day)
Open 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Online ordering is not available. Stop by in person to order pastries, sandwiches, or drinks, and pick up your pie.
Missed the preorder deadline? A limited number of pies will be available in the shop during the week of Thanksgiving, including Thanksgiving morning, sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Saturday, November 22 – 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Tuesday, November 25 – 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Wednesday, November 26 – 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Thursday, November 27 (Thanksgiving Day) – 8:15 AM to 11:30 AM (limited selection, first come, first served)
All pies must be picked up during the specific time you select when placing your order. Each pie is baked fresh for you, so arriving early may mean your pie isn’t ready, and arriving late may cause issues since we cannot store pies overnight. Any pies not picked up on the scheduled date will be donated. To keep the process smooth for everyone, we kindly ask that you arrive on time. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

The days leading up to Thanksgiving are unlike any other at Kneads & Wants. With hundreds of pies to bake in our two ovens, the bakery is working at full speed. To keep everything on track, we are unable to take catering orders or accommodate special requests during this time. Thank you for your understanding and for allowing us to focus on making each pie perfect.

Sharing the season is at the heart of what we do. Each year, our community comes together to donate fresh pumpkin pies that we deliver to local food pantries and soup kitchens in Skokie and nearby towns. Add a donation pie to your order—or purchase pies just for donation—and help ensure every family has something sweet to enjoy this holiday.
